In 2006 the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand commenced offering the Sterilisation Certificate course that was previously offered by the NZSSA.

The Sterilisation Certificate course in now completed over a one year period via correspondence.

It is a requirement for this course that all new staff to have commenced the Sterilisation Certificate course within two years of their employment within the CSSD setting.

The 2010 Applications for enrolment, 2010 Guide to enrolment, 2010 Certificate in Sterilising Technology brochure and fee schedule are now available on line: http://www.openpolytechnic.ac.nz/programmesandcourses/programmes/op3171.

Applications open on November 23 and close on December 14.

Remember each course has a written assessment that has to be completed and returned to the Open University for marking. The assessments are based upon the learning outcomes for each course and to gain credit for a course you are required to meet all of the competency requirements of the course assessment.
